Can you tell us a little bit about your latest book? When did it come out? Where can we get it?
The latest book from Solstice happens to be called Midnight Lessons. It's a pretty short erotica novella and it's
currently out now.
My latest book in general will be an LGBT novel called
Lilacs and Vanilla, and that will actually be coming out on October
7th. You can get both of those on Amazon actually. The latter is
available for pre-order right now.
Great!
So, is there anything that prompted Lilacs and Vanilla? Something that inspired you?
There's nothing that really prompted anything. I
write a lot of LGBT fiction and that tends to be the thing that people really
like reading the most from me. I especially like writing about PoCs in those
situations. It's something I've been wanting to finish for a long time and I
finally did.
All right.
I've always done this my entire life. I didn't get
completely serious about it until I became an adult but it's something I have
always done, on and off.
Awesome! It's fascinating to hear about an author's journey. :)
These days, I really don't read a whole lot as I
used to in the past. I simply have not been able to make time for that. I
usually do like reading things from Stephen King. I also liked J.K.
Rowling's Harry Potter series, and I like a few other indie authors that are out
there.
In my room is the only place that I write and I
tend to write throughout the day. A little in the morning and a little at
night.
Okay.
Are there any words you'd like
to impart to fellow writers? Any advice?
There isn't very much. Just keep writing, keep
trying, and keep doing what you love. Understand that not everyone is going to
love your work and that's okay. It doesn't mean you're bad at what you do. Know
the rules and know that it's okay to break the rules now and then.
And thank you so much for stopping
by to visit us here today at Writing in the Modern Age. It was so nice
having you! :)
Ria Martinez has found a decent job within a lingerie store called Lilacs and Vanilla. The hours are great, the customers aren't a pain, her coworkers are fun, and the atmosphere is nice. She also has her eyes on her boss, Susannah Halprin. She's intrigued by Susannah's mysterious behavior and wants to know her. However, Susannah keeps her distance which makes Ria more and more interested.
Susannah, in the meantime, is still reeling over a break-up that made her lose faith in love. She knows Ria is noticing her. She feels something as well. However, she can't really express how she feels in return. Can Ria reach out to her and make her feel loved again? It seems like a difficult task but never underestimate the power of love.
This book sounds great! We'll be sure to check it out!

different genres and loves to cross over. Her personal favorite thing is to write
about female characters in different situations.
Although she does work during the day, most of her
nights are taken up by writing. Currently, she lives in North Carolina with
her family. She loves ladybugs, yellow roses, movies, book signings, mysteries,
watching old Youtube videos, ghost stories, gossip, music, people making her
fanart, museums, ice cream, and being a wisecrack though not all in that order.
Writing and peacocks hit the top of her list, though.
Dedication and acknowledgements: To all the people who
have helped me on this journey. Special thanks to Solstice Publishing for all
