Interview with Author Nicole Garcia

My guest today is Nicole Garcia.  Hello!  Welcome to Writing in the Modern Age!  It’s such a pleasure to have you here.

Can you tell us a little bit about your latest book? When did it come out? Where can we get it?

My latest book, A Love for Somnus, was out in February. Since this last year was a bit busy for our household, I hadn't had much time to write. But, I have gotten back to writing full time again. All my books are available on Amazon

Is there anything that prompted your book?  Something that inspired you?

Yes. It was book two in my Roman God Romance series. I was inspired to write Cupid's Heart last year for Valentine's Day.

How wonderful!

So, when did you know you wanted to write? Or has it always been a pastime of yours?

I have always been an avid reader. Ever since I was a child. When I was a teenager I started reading poetry and absolutely fell in love. So, that's what I started writing. I hadn't begun writing romance until about three years ago.

Love to hear a good author origin story!

So, do you have any favorite authors?

There are too many to name, but here are a few of my absolute favorites. Claudy Conn, Tina Folsom, Michelle Mankin, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Sharon Hamilton.

Do you write in a specific place? Time of day?

Not really. Being a full-time mother of four, three of whom are special needs, my home is very busy. I write wherever and whenever I have time.

All right.

Are there any words you'd like to impart to fellow writers? Any advice?

Never give up on your dream. Many people will tell you that you're not good enough and you will never make it as writer, but it is important to always believe in yourself. Never give up if writing is what's in your heart.

That is great advice, Nicole!  Forget the naysayers, as I say.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit us today here at Writing in the Modern Age.  It was such a pleasure having you!  :)

Readers, here is the blurb for A Love for Somnus.

Lailani is a human who longs for the love she cannot have.

Somnus, the God of Dreams, will never give his heart to another woman again after the death of his first love.

Can their hearts be mended? Or will it be too late to heal the wounds that have scarred them both?

Author Bio

Happily married and mother of four. We have two daughters and two sons. Both my sons have special needs since they are Autistic. I have a degree in Nursing, but have been a stay at home mom for the past eight years. I have a few hobbies such as gardening and rescuing exotic pets. We have so many I could probably charge admission to our small petting zoo. But I have to say my absolute passion is reading. So after spending so much time at home, I decided to make a career out of sharing my love for books. Writing and promoting has become a full time job for me now. There are so many unknown authors out there that deserve to have their books read by many. So after promoting for authors for two years, I decided to follow my dream and start writing my own books. I started writing poetry when I was just a little girl and have always loved the feeling it gave me. Currently I write New Adult, Contemporary, and Paranormal Romance, but I plan to write other genres in the future. Hope you will join me in all the fun ahead.
